The Best Movie’s Of 2009

March 52010

I have to admit this year was not quite as epic as last year. Its not really anyones fault; its just last year was, bang! Oh, ah, wow! Everything was on a larger scale and had high expectations. This year I wasnt really sure what to expect. Though I am just as surprised as you might be at some of the films that ended up on the list this year, some of the films Ive loved since the teaser trailer. So here it is from troubled romances to fantastic foxes from bomb squads to Up in the Air and finally the inglouriousness that is the Basterds, these are my top movies of 2009.

::Movies::
1 Up In The Air
2 Inglourious Basterds
3 The Hurt Locker
4 An Education
5 A Serious Man
6 District 9
7 Avatar
8 Watchmen
9 Fantastic Mr. Fox
10 (500) Days of Summer

Whats the best scary films to watch for 14 year olds?

March 32010

for my 14th birthday me and 5 of my best friends are going to sleep in the cabin right down the end of my garden. i’ve already planned that were going to watch "A nightmere on elm street" and that my dad is going to buy a freddy krueger glove and tap on the window =D. But does anyone know any other good, scary films. i’ve heard of this film called "It" by stephen king. has anyone watched it? Is it good? any other scary suggestions?

Stephen King’s It is by far the best movie I’ve ever seen it’s my favorite movie. It’s really long though like over 3 hours. Nightmare On Elm Street & It are my two favorite horror movies ever. You should also watch a Halloween movie (I prefer the original or H20) or if you’re looking for one that’s funny also try Child’s Play although you’re young so you won’t find much humor. Also other really good Stephen King movies are The Shining, Misery & 1408.

What are the best films about film making?

February 272010

I wish to start making short low budget films as soon as I graduate.
I want to know what are some Essential books to buy?

I’d recommend you see Richard Linklater’s ‘Slacker’ and pick up one of the Guerilla Filmmaker’s handbooks. Try Youtube for practical advice.

Also, William Goldman’s ‘Adventures in the Screentrade’ is great at expounding the screenwriter’s craft. ‘The Conversations’ by Michael Ondaatje and Walter Murch is a fantastic book about film and sound editing. Both books are about and by established figures in the trade but aim high I say!

What are the best films you’ve ever seen?

February 252010

I’ve just joined lovefilm and would like to know what in your opinion is the best films ever?

All depends on what genre of films you like. I pretty much like all kinds and have watched so many from chick flicks to gangster! My fave different ones off the top of my head are;
girly ones: beaches, titanic, the notebook, ghost
thriller: taken, man on fire, eden lake, butterfly on a wheel, single white female
gangster; scarface, goodfellas, carlitos way, blow
comedy: anchorman (very random!)
horror: orphan, drag me to hell, the descent, the exorcist
also the shawshank redemption, schindlers list, braveheart :) xxx
