I’m going with the latter, because the 3 best films with Marlon Brando, are not his best work, imo.
My 3 Fav Performances –
1. Reflections in a Golden Eye ( his most subtle brilliance )
2. A Streetcar Named Desire *

I read that Brando, was so turned-off by Hollywood, that after "Streetcar" — he desperately wanted to return to the New York Stage.
Despite so many extraordinary performances on film — I wish he could have pursued his true desires.
Edit –
I would like to add that "Apocalypse Now" ranks as one of the Greatest "Brief" performances on Film !!
There will never be another Brando, Bogart, or Cagney, imo.
I always imagine, "What would have happened, if James Dean, had done more than 3 movies?"

I own Suspiria and that is an absolutely brilliant film….I’ve also seen Phenomena, Deep Red, Pelts, & Inferno…Just for the record…

Did I mention Suspiria? That’s one of my favorite movies of all time so I may be a little biased.
Other ones you should definitely include: Opera, and Inferno. If you are truly a Argento fan, check out Demons. Fun little movie, he didn’t direct it, but he did write it.

I really like the remakes of Peter Pan and Alice and Wonderland. I’m sure you’ve seen the Slice in Wonderland previews, but this is the Peter Pan one. I love this movie

Does Finding Nemo count? That movie was amazing. Such a great meaning to it; plus it was funny.
Keeping The Faith- Edward Norton directed and starred in this movie with Jenna Elfman and Ben Stiller.
Some King Of Wonderful- Eric Stolz, Lea Thompson, and Mary Stuart Masterson. 80’s movie by John Hughes. Lots say this movie ends the way he originally wanted Pretty In Pink to end.
Sky High- Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston play the parents. Cute movie.
Secret Admirer- another 80’s movie with Lori Loughlin, C. Thomas Howell, and Kelly Preston.
Mischief- another 80’s movie with Kelly Preston and Jamie Gertz but it’s really only the ending that pertains to your question.
Just Friends as already mentioned with Ryan Reynolds. Love that movie.
Lucas- Corey Haim is in love with Kerri Green who’s in love with Charlie Sheen and all the while Wynona Ryder is in love with Corey Haim, they’ve been friends for a very long time. I think she gets her chance in the end.. Leads you to believe that anyway..
