What sort of software would be good for me to make some "backups" of my film DVD’s?
The more simple and idiot proof the better! And free of course!
I havent tried it as it looks confusing with all the file types and converting. Is it that difficult?
By back up do you really mean "make duplicate copies to sell overseas and make a huge profit to fuel an illegal smuggling ring"?
Rip them to your computer with DVDFab HD Decrypter (freeware). http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm
Once DVDFab has ripped the disc to your hard drive and removed copy protection… you may also want to compress the movies into a format like DivX or XviD (I prefer XviD) that takes up less space. These are the formats movies are usually in when people download them from the web. A movie can generally be reduced to around 700 MB while maintaining decent quality. I use AVI.net (freeware) to do this. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/avi.NET
Basically a long V-log I made since I’m still getting used to this new channel. I mention some DVDs that I picked up, give some thoughts on what’s coming out soon to theaters, what may be coming up on the channel, and more. Hope you enjoy.
And here’s a link to a video/fan trailer I made, that Mike was nice enough to upload for me on his channel:

Thanks again Mike.

We have some .avi files and want to put them onto DVD to watch in a DVD player, rather than watching it on a tiny laptop. What is a progra that converts it at the same time as burning it onto a dvd, we have a dvd burner and just need the program, i have used one before, it was a drag and drop, and burnt it real time while converting it onto a DVD, viola! cheers
Wondershare Video to DVD Burner is recommended, which supports dragging, dropping and real-time previewing. It can burn most pop format vidoe to DVD, including AVI, MP4, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, WMV, ASF, RM, RMVB, DAT, MOV, FLV, MKV, M2TS, TP, etc. It allows me to edit the video freely, such as trimming/cropping/effect setting and customizing dvd menu, ect.
May it help you.
I have managed to burn films from torrent sites on dvd 4.7 G.B dvd+R 120minute but I can watch them on my computer but not on my dvd playing which is annoying.I have 1st burned onto a 8.5G.B dvd+R then via dvd decryptor burned to a normal 4.7 G.B dvd+R and i can play on both my computer and my dvd player but it would be easier if someone can tell me that it is possible to burn directley onto a 4.7 G.B that plays on the dvd player also.Greetings from lee.
WinAvi is the best solution
