How do I start using UseNet to download films?

April 92010

Posted in films | 1 Comment »

I’ve been using Bittorrent but I’ve heard that UseNet is faster.

What websites do this?
Can I just use the NewsGroups from my internet provider?
What do I need to know to start doing this?
Do I need to use a special search engine to find the films?
Can I download TV programmes this way too?

I tried this but found it to be just the same as Bitcomet.
Have a look at this;

If yout looking for faster dwload speeds, try the TCP patch and increase to 80, but not more than 100.

What are some good interesting and strange films?

I like movies that are a little out there conceptually and that take some intellect to understand. What are some good films?
I like: Pi, The Fountain, A Scanner Darkly, There Will Be Blood, No Country for old men.

Really complex characters usually make the movie for me.
Thanks!

The Fountain is the crappiest movie I have ever seen.

Requiem for a Dream
Donnie Darko
Fight Club
Bringing out the Dead
umm yea I don’t really know.

What are some films about artists and painters etc?

Not documentaries, but more formalistic films about artists and painters. For instance the movie "Pollock" is a great example of the painter, Sydney Pollack.

Thank you!

Which intant camera films are compatible with the transfer technique?

April 12010

Posted in films | 3 Comments »

I want to learn how to do polaroid transfers… I want to know which type of film is compatible with this technique. Does fujifilm also have films that can do this?

Actually Fuji’s FP-100C does work with image transfers – there are a few caveats though. When you peel apart the film after waiting around 10 seconds, you should be in relative darkness. Any light will lead to it not working out quite as well, from what I understand.

The FP-100C also works with emulsion lifts, just not quite the same as good old Type 669. First less glue tends to come along with the emulsion, so FP-100C is a little more touchy to make sure it’s down on what you want it on, and it seems from my experience to not quite work so well when it comes to taking on the texture of what the FP-100C emulsion is laid upon.

The FP-100C would be your best bet, with Polaroid Type 669 becoming more and more rare.

How many conservatives have actually boycotted Hollywood films and TV shows?

March 302010

Posted in films | 18 Comments »

I constantly see conservatives on Y!A complaining about liberalism in Hollywood, so I was wondering if any conservatives here had actually made it a point to boycott films and TV shows with actors, directors, and producers whose political views they deem objectionable.

Me for one. I will not watch any movie or tv show with certain stars in them because I do not agree with their politics. I support their right to have and voice opinions as they choose, but I will not support their careers or help provide them with a public forum by buying their product.

Just a few names on the list.
Danny Glover
Tim Robbins
Susan Saradon
Alec Baldwin
George Clooney
Michael Moore

I look to movies and tv to be entertained. I really do not care what these people think politically.
